EASTER EGGS TUTORIAL

Painting Easter eggs won’t be complicated anymore. In this post will give you some tips to obtain a brilliant result.

White eggs
White vinegar
Natural hemp cord
Food colorants
Paper towel
Recipients to dye each egg separately
A spoon
Black marker
A washi tape roll
Scissors

Firstly, we fill the recipients –we took plastic glasses- with water and we will add in them some food colourant drops.
Add few drops of white vinegar, which we’ll sit the colour easily on the eggs’ shell..

And with the spoon’s help, immerse an egg in each recipient.

Let the eggs settle 10 minutes’ time inside the food colourant.

Then, let the eggs dry outside the recipient. If it is so sunny as today… 3 minutes is enough

Et voilà! On the coloured shell we write and draw what we want with a marker, surround the egg by hemp cord and we can make a washi tape flag hanging on it

Everything is ready, you can give our cupcake box with transparent lid as a present and… hide the eggs in the garden or inside your home. They will have a great time try to find them! ;)

EASTER MARKETS: CRAFTY FOX MARKET

Since we attended the Market, last December in London -the Christmas edition- we felt in love with this market. That’s why we decided we wanted to collaborate with them in the next edition.

What are we talking about? About Crafty Fox Market. A lovely London Art & Design Market where you can find talented design makers with their amazing handmade creations: from toys to jewellery, even a pop up tea room from The Tea's Knees. The Market lasts two days and every day you can find different artisans, so make sure you have all the weekend free because you will want to go back the next day for certain.

When we first came there, it was hard to find for us, of course we are no real Londoners, but when we found it, we understood why it was in such an amazing place. Dogstar where it is usually placed, in the heart of Brixton, an awesome pub, as it is defined itself ‘Its exquisite and timeless design create a 'Surrealist Boudoir'’. True!

Bunny boxes!! How cute they are! Available on our website

When you get in you find a pleasant atmosphere liven up by great djs and mixed with the market ambience. You can carry on with this feeling when you go upstairs to enjoy the scheduled workshops. In this Easter edition was the turn of
Mr. Windgate (Sam) who screen-printed tote bags for all the assistants who enrolled for the workshop. What nice designs they made! Even they dared to screen-print our SelfPackaging picninc boxes, and the result was spectacular. Sam you are an artist!

But we can’t finish without thanking its organizers Stephan and Sinead who take care of everything of the Market and of its sponsors, such as SelfPackaging, to help us in whatever we need. Standing ovation for them and for the project they create, Crafty Fox Market.

If you have just discovered this nice market in London, we will invite you to follow us on its blog. It will keep you updated when the next market / event will take place ;)

JUST A LITTLE MORE LOVE

Valentine’s has gone but it doesn’t mean we forget the colour pink. We love decorating in pink and with hearts, so we’ve thought why don’t use these shades all year.
Let’s decorate together this cupcake box

What you need:

- Scissors
- A drawn heart on a patterned paper
- A lovely lengthened stamp (this one is from Cromatismes)
- An ink pad
- A small piece of threat
- Nice buttons (these ones are also from Cromatismes)
- Our box for four cupcakes, ref. 2214_L

What we’ll do first is stamp the lengthened stamp on the box before assembling it. It doesn’t matter if it’s not in the centre of the box but it must be straight. Same tip if you want to apply adhesive tape or washi tape, better before assembling it.

Once the box is already stamped, we’ll start building it. This model is very easy to assemble, in any case, you’ll find an explanatory video here to know how to set up the box.

This box doesn’t need glue or adhesive tape to assembly it. So, it makes the job much easier ;).

At this point, your box should look like this.

Then, we cut the heart we drew previously on the patterned paper. The pattern and the heart design is up to the look you want to obtain. We’ve drawn a heart on a red and pink pattern and in an irregular way, we’ve avoided the typical rounded heart.  Test your originality!

Glue the back of the heart to stick it on the box’s lid, just above the stamp pattern.

Afterwards, pass the buttons trough the thread, one by one and facing up. We took five buttons only but it will depend on the size of them.

Tip: Stick a little bit of adhesive tape around the thread to start threading easily.

Take the thread with the buttons and go with it across the box. Tight the thread as a ribbon at the side.

Et voilà! Here you have your cupcake box to keep all your love in.
